The visa validity date is the window of time you have to enter the country before your visa can no longer be used. Generally, visas are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. The expiry date of the visa will be printed on it whether it’s a visa stuck in your passport, or an eVisa. You must enter the country before the expiry date, or you’ll need to get a new visa.

For several other visas/eVisas, there are specific dates of entry and exit printed on the visa. For example, the visa for Russia is locked to the dates of your trip. If your entry date is the 1st of October, you can enter anytime on or after that date. If your exit date is the 21st of October, then you must exit the country by that date.
